How do I get started?

The first step is to register with a bingo site of your choice. You need to register before you can play, even if you are looking for a free game.

Registering means you have to give personal information such as your name, address and email and in some cases your payment details. You will also be asked for your player name and a password so you can log back into the site again and again.

How do I play?

The basic idea behind bingo is that you buy a card with a set of numbers on it laid out in a grid. This card is sometimes called a “ticket”. A bingo caller calls out numbers selected in a random order and if any of them are on your card you mark them off or “daub” them. The first person to mark off a certain pattern on their grid, e.g. a line, shouts Bingo. Once a spotter has confirmed that the numbers do indeed match they hand over the prize or jackpot.

What does it cost?

The cost of a ticket varies, but can be anything from 10p to £1. If you buy a more expensive ticket, the chances are the prize money is bigger.

Often people buy their tickets in sets of six. This is called a “strip”.

How do I deposit funds?

Once you are registered you will have the option of putting funds into your account so you can play for real money. Each site will have its own system but broadly speaking, look for the deposit button and follow the on screen prompts. If you did not give payment details when you registered you will be asked for this information now.

What if I win?

If you are a lucky winner then you can keep your winnings on your account and use them to play more games. Or you can ask for your winnings to be paid out.
